time better than new orleans, and it's really bounced back. also three movies with a lot of oscar buzz. "beats of the southern wild" and "django unchained" and "looper" were all filmed there. it's a revitalized city. 2013 is when the super bowl will be hosted in new orleans. that on top of carnival season and mardi gras, which is february 12th, will make it the city to be in new orleans. >> exhausted if you live there. >> funky monkey. >> that's a good one. to our neighbors up north, toronto. >> toronto. this is an overlooked city, but it is a really wonderful and very sophisticated city. it has a thriving performing arts scene. theater is fantastic there and concerts and stuff. it also has some really wonderful festivals that are open to the public. the french festival this summer is really fun, and, of course, their film festival in september, it's the largest public film festival in north america. really great. >> they've made it so easy to do it there, and then financially viable. >> financially, yeah. >> it had a bit of a building boom in the past few years, so a lot of new restau

theater going on in politics. i would say this year's oscar though goes to john boehner for pretending toe be nexting in good faith. throughout this whole process he has been the primary person pointing fingers and the democrats offered several different, several different opportunities for the speaker to come to the table, compromise opportunities. most recently even agreeing to seen less tax revenue as part of the deal. so i think that the issue here is that it is going to be very difficult for the republicans to come behind a compromise plan which has tax increases and spending cuts which is really the balanced approach. heather: david, what do you think?. >> well, apparently the political kib bub can i theater continues in this segment. several means several or more. the president put two options on the table. before the election he asked for 800 billion. after the election, hey i won i want 1.6 billion trillion in tax hikes. this is where the political kibuki theater. we're playing small ball. we're going to hit the debt ceiling on december 31st, 6.39 trillion. we have $87 trillion in

think as oscar wild, to paraphrase it, to lose one "a" to lose two "as" would be regrettable. i'm sure some viewers will correct me exactly on that. but to lose the first day was not that significant. it was basically the ratings agencies being grumbling and unpleasant, or at least one of them. if it came to losing a second one or a slight notch down or a plus or a minus or whatever -- >> right. >> -- that would be sending a very serious tone. that would be saying hang on. the u.s. potentially has a dysfunctionality in its budget process that even a real crisis can't deal with. now, we're a long way from that. and i'm not suggesting for one moment, but it's something to bear in mind as we go -- or as you go -- we all go over the cliff. >> yeah. holding our noses, hoping for a deal at least to avoid that. richard, thank you very much. appreciate it. >>> they are unlikely heroes of world war ii. >> they were over 1 million pigeons enlisted in the second world war. all of them played a part in the war, and they saved many lives in some heroic acts. so it's a story that should be told, and
